This Woman Found Her Anonymous Sperm Donor and Fell in Love With Him

"It's a very modern twist, isn't it?" Why yes, it is.

Hart

Aminah Hart, 42, thought it was important she know who the anonymous sperm donor and father of her child was. She didn't expect for the two of them to fall in love [via ABC].
Hart decided to use a sperm donor after losing two sons to a rare genetic disorder that didn't affect women. Hart declined to use gender selection (despite the fact that it's available when going through in vitro fertilization), but was relieved to find out she was carrying a girl. She assumed she'd just raise the child as a single mother and that would be the end of it. But she was compelled to seek out the man who described himself as "happy and healthy" on the donor form.
Scott Andersen, a father of four, AFL coach, and cattle breeder, donated sperm because he thought it was the right thing to do. "People give blood and all that. Why wouldn't you help someone?" he says. He agreed to leave his contact info available, but didn't expect he'd hear from the mother he donated to for years. He was surprised to get an email with pictures of Hart and her daughter Leila, but agreed to meet them. The two quickly agreed that Anderson should be a part of Leila's life.
Andersen and Hart quickly grew close, with Anderson eventually breaking up with the woman he was dating at the time. The two have been together a year now and are both involved in Leila's life, as well as the lives of Anderson's other four children. As Hart put it: "Having the donor child as the final sibling in the family is a very modern twist, isn't it?"
