Russia had its first same-sex
wedding Friday, despite the couple living in a country where same-sex
marriages are illegal. The wedding was able to occur due to one of the
brides being born a male. She is currently undergoing hormone therapy
because she is transgender and identifies as a woman, but is still
listed as male on her documents [via Yahoo].
No
one stopped the wedding from happening, but local lawmaker and known
supporter of Russia's "gay propaganda" law, Vitaliy Milonov, says he
wants it annulled.
Here's hoping Milonov finds a hobby and focuses on that instead.
