Some Guy Broke the Record for the Priciest Starbucks Order Again

These sorts of stunts are just going to keep happening until we're all sitting in bathtubs full of tepid pumpkin spice lattes — and are we really ready to live in a world like that?

To most people, holding the "world record" for the most expensive Starbucks order (for a single drink) is a dubious honor. But to others, it's a badge of honor — and good for them. Live your dreams, follow your bliss, never sleep again, etc., etc.
With a 60-shot Frappuccino, medical student Sameera Raziuddin held the record for a few months, having spent $57.75 on her beverage back in July. But Florida-based political consultant William Lewis — pictured above — now has her beat; it is elections season (Go vote! Today!) after all, so his job probably requires him to stay buzzed at the moment. Via MTV, Lewis spent $83.75 on his coffee, or at least he would have if he didn't have a crapton of loyalty points on a Starbucks card. His order was a 101-shot latte, which included "99 extra shots of espresso and 17 additional hits of vanilla syrup" just because. Doesn't he look thrilled with his purchase? The drink is reportedly both the biggest and most expensive Starbucks order ... at least for now.
Lewis explained he just wanted to rise to the "Internet challenge." Meanwhile, a Starbucks spokesperson said the beverage is technically against policy, and they (or indeed anyone with a conscience) would never recommend drinking that much caffeine in a single sitting.
