An LA magician decided to give a friendly homeless veteran the surprise of his life
By Kelly Potts
Rob Anderson, a Las Vegas magician, heard about a homeless veteran who “just wanted to make people smile,” and decided to give him the surprise of his life. Capturing the moment on camera, Anderson’s first move was shocking. He approached the man, Alan McCracken, and asked to hold his sign that read, “Homeless trying to get by. Anything helps. God bless.” Anderson egged him on while ripping up his sign saying, “Well, it says anything helps so, how about that?”Even with his sign destroyed, Alan’s smile never faded. His only concern was getting his marker back to make another sign. Anderson then opens up the sign to reveal cash flying out; Alan’s reaction was priceless.
And as if Anderson’s kind act wasn’t enough, he started a GoFundMe page for Alan, which has raised over $26,000 in just seven days. Anderson is going to surprise Alan again (who is under the impression that just a few small donations have been made) with the money within the next few weeks.
