Virtually everyone is aware of the ancient sights the Italian capital has to offer. If you've booked a stay in a Rome design hotel in the city you should plan your itinerary so you don't miss the most important ones.
Here are three suggestions you may want to follow. Which one will you decide to visit first?
Circus Maximus
Chariot racing is perhaps one of the more familiar images when it comes to thoughts of this great city. While you won't see any going on today anywhere near your Rome design hotel, there are definitely signs that it used to occur! The best evidence is at Circus Maximus. Today it is a park you can visit, and while it looks somewhat different to how it would have looked centuries ago, you can still see the layout of the circuit as it was used in ancient times. Before the Circus Maximus was built - some two and a half thousand years ago - chariots used to race around the city streets. (The Palatine Hill was not too far away, and the Coliseum was fairly close by as well.) The inherent danger in this was the reason Circus Maximus came into being.
Palatine Hill
Depending on which Rome design hotel you stay in, you might get a view of Palatine Hill from your hotel room. There are Seven Hills of Rome and this is the most central of them. It is well worth visiting, as you will get spectacular views of the Roman Forum and the Circus Maximus. The ruins of the Imperial Palace sit atop the hill, and there are several other ruins as well. Excavation works have brought these to the attention of the public and work is on going to ensure they can be enjoyed in the future too.
Roman Forum
Whichever Rome design hotel you stay in, you won't be far from these amazing sights. Make sure you take the time to step into the past and make some memories for the future.
