Kristi and Justin refused to leave their sick baby's side.
When JJ Nelson was born nine months ago, his twin brother Colt died in the womb. Since then, he's been in the NICU at a Texas hospital, unable to leave. Today, his parents Kristi Warriner and Justin Nelson are getting married at his bedside [via NBC DFW].
With JJ gaining strength in the NICU for the foreseeable future, his parents couldn't imagine getting married anywhere else. Their unimaginable loss and suffering over the past few months helped them realize that they could send a happy message to other parents going through the same thing.
"Our mission behind all this was to hopefully let others [know] that have been there, are there, or unfortunately one day could be in a similar situation as ours, and let them know they are not alone," Warriner told NBC. "It is the most heartbreaking thing to ever go through as a parent."
Photos of the wedding will be added as they come through, but there is no doubt it will be the kind of wedding that makes you cry fat, ugly, happy tears.
