When we were younger, it was simple enough just to go out and purchase some iodized salt or kosher sea salt and call it a day. However, thanks to dedicated research, we now have many varieties of salt to choose from, with different choices for health, flavor, and consistency. With this broad variety of specialty salts available, it's not always easy to know which one is right for you. With this in mind, let's compare a small handful of salts on the market: average table salt, kosher sea salt, and premium pink salt. These salts are manufactured differently and have different effects on flavor and the health benefits you gain from your meals.
First let's examine how each of these salts is manufactured. While table salt is often fortified with iodine for the health benefit of the consumer, it often undergoes extreme heat in its manufacturing process, which decreases some of the effectiveness of the salt's potential health benefits. Kosher salt is a similarly refined salt, often with a much larger grain. While the word kosher is often used to market this salt, it does not always mean it has been certified kosher, and it does not have any iodine added to it. The larger grain size makes it a popular choice, but this too undergoes high temperatures, clearly altering its chemical makeup. Pink salt is an unrefined salt, purely derived from Hawaiian and Mediterranean sources through a solar drying process. The salt
remains in its natural state, pure and full of all the sodium a body needs with none of the chemical alterations or additives that the others contain. Pink salt tends to be overlooked due to its unfamiliar color, but as no excessive heat has been added, it's a purer product.
The next major consideration is the actual mineral content and overall health benefit of ingesting these salts. As you might expect, iodized salt has helped increase the iodine intake of people and has helped combat iodine deficiency, but this is about the beginning and the end of table salt's health benefits. Kosher salt without iodine has even fewer. While the larger grains might make it appear purer or generally healthier, it's undergone the same processes and holds little other than sodium content. Pink salt, however, is unaltered and beneficial to consume. The sodium is more easily digested because no heat has been added, minimizing kidney stress, and it even helps increase electrolyte levels. It's a bit strange in its appearance, but the health benefits of pink salt are hard to deny.
While incorporating a pink salt supplement into your life might seem odd, soon you'll find you're using it anywhere you'd have used ordinary table salt. It'll add some color to your plate and some spark to your body. Soon you'll find yourself wondering why you trusted that scorched white stuff to begin with. It is always essential for intestinal cleanse program
