Victoria's Secret Alters "Perfect Body" Campaign After Major Backlash
Victoria's Secret received so much backlash about their recent "Perfect Body" campaign that they've quietly changed the slogan.
The campaign, which features basically naked supermodels next to the words "the perfect 'body'" inspired three women to create a petition demanding that Victoria's Secret "apologise and take responsibility for the unhealthy and damaging message that their 'Perfect Body' campaign sends out about women's bodies and how they should be judged."
And they did! The VS site now reads "A Body for Every Body," which sends "a more inclusive and healthy message" to women, founders of the petition Gabriella, Frances, and Laura believe. Though they are thrilled with the changes, they aren't stopping there: "We want them to change the posters in all of their stores to ones with the new wording. We are also waiting for an apology, and a pledge from Victoria's Secret that they will not use such harmful marketing in the future," they write on their site.
Victoria's Secret has yet to issue a comment about the change, but can I get a "go guuuurls" in the meantime? Awesome.
